Caring For Your Candle - The Basics

Before Lighting a Candle
• We recommend burning PartyLite candles only in PartyLite Holders.
• Position candles at least 5 cm apart if burning more than one at the same time.
• Place candles on a flat and level surface.
• Avoid drafts or extreme differences in room temperature.

Trim the Wick!
• Trim wicks to about 0.5 cm each time before lighting, to avoid them bending to the side (with the exception of tealights and votives).
• If a ‘wick blossom’ develops on the wick, extinguish the candle, remove the ‘blossom’ and then relight the candle.

How to Burn Your Wax Right
• For all candles, please take care to position the wick so that it points towards the center.
• If the wick is too short and is in danger of ‘drowning’, extinguish the candle and use a tissue to remove some of the wax surrounding the wick.

The Right Residue
• With tealights and votives, a wax residue may sometimes remain in the cup or holder.
• To remove any traces of soot from a jar candle extinguish the candle. Allow the candle to cool completely and the wax to solidify. Then use a soft dry cloth to wipe away the soot.

Going Flameless?

Make Sure to Follow the Following Steps After Using Melts:
PartyLite’s Scent Plus® Melts don’t burn away like regular candle wax in the ScentGlow® Warmer:
• To remove used wax, let the dish cool to room temperature.
• Place the dish in the freezer for about 30 minutes to shrink the wax.
• Remove the dish from the freezer. Tip the dish to allow the wax to drop out. Repeat if necessary.

Safety First! Simple Rules to Follow:

• Keep burning candles out of the reach of children and pets.
• Make sure to maintain sufficient distance from flammable materials.
• Do not place candles on or anywhere near furniture or electrical devices that are not heat-resistant.
